Okay, Laura asked for it. Here is number one. When Traci Gregerson(Johns),Jessica Verheof and I were juniors we took a trip together to Yakama, Washington to see Traci's boyfriend who she'd met at Red Fish Lake. I don't remember the guys name but he was pretty dumb. Cute enough, but not my favorite guy. The only cool thing about him was he worked at a cherry factory. We got to go to the factory and eat as many of those big yummy cherries as we wanted. It's a 9 hour drive up there and we drove the John's Trooper, just the three of us. We got there sometime in the

afternoon and later that night I called my mom to let her know we were there and okay. My mom asked me how Utah was and at first I thought she was kidding. It turned out that she hadn't really heard anything I had said except we were driving to see Traci's boyfriend. I told her we were closer to Seattle. Then she said, "Oh, okay, have fun. When are you coming back again?" Ha ha. She could have at least got the right state! Or one next to it, or within 600 miles of it. When we were up there we had fun cliff jumping and I taught Jessica the art of bum sliding down a river. Holy cow! I thought she was going to drown from laughing so hard. I was trying my best to keep myself up while holding her up, too. We also went to this fun restaurant where they had a deck built out into this huge pond full of those nasty huge goldfish things that get to be the size of cats. It was a pretty fun trip.

A friend and I were bored one time so I let her dye my hair. During 9th grade we were bored and in Kmart or somewhere cheap like that and I saw a box of dark brown hair dye. I’ve always wondered what I would look like as a brunette so I grabbed it and we headed home. I didn’t realize anything was up until we were rinsing my hair out in the bath tub. I freaked and asked why the heck the bath water was BLACK!

Not brown, BLACK. I checked the box and it said dark brown and had a picture of dark brown hair. I should have sued. That night I walked into our living room and sat down with my parents to watch a little TV until bed. I think I was sitting there for an hour before my mom looked over and asked incredulously why my hair was black. I told them it was an honest accident but I don’t think they believed me. I definitely didn’t like it black, but it was an interesting experience watching my hair turn every gross color from black to red to orange to blond again. Believe it or not, I haven’t dyed my hair since. Moral of the story: don’t buy cheap hair dye.

This one is completely retarded of me, but sometime in high school, can't remember when, Traci Gregerson, Tara Hamilton(not sure what her last name is now), Jessica Verhoef and I went to the STP/ Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in the Idaho Center. One of our big goals of the night was to go crowd surfing. Yup, where you let weird strangers pick you up and lift you across the entire crowd all the way up to the

stage where you're then taken around the side and out of the concert hall; they let you in I think two times and then you can't get back in. So we all did it and surprisingly the only one who was dropped was tiny little Tara. By the way, she and her husband just had the most beautiful baby girl!

Emma Egner(Turley) has been my best friend since we were in 3rd grade. We would stay at each other’s house practically every weekend and I miss it so much! I think all of my favorite childhood memories include Emma. When we stayed at Emma’s house we would first clean her room. I’m a bit of a clean freak and I can’t stand to stay in a room that’s messy. Traci, hmm. So we would trash out her room and organize it a bit from the last weekend’s festivities and then we would make treats and popcorn. We would drink this stuff that tasted like coffee but didn’t have anything bad in it. I can’t remember what it was called. Oooh, that sounds good, I’ll have to call Emma and find out what it was. Then we would watch movies and goof off and laugh the entire night. We had this game we loved to play. We would get wire

hangers and “fish” popcorn out of a huge bowl from her bed. I need to call Emma and have a sleep over with her two girls and her boy as soon as we get into our new house! It gets me excited just thinking about it!!! Then the best part of the night was always bed time. Emma and I would take turns playing with each other’s hair. We would fight over who played with whose hair last until we both dropped dead when the night was almost over. Ha, that reminds me! We made a time capsule, otherwise known as a fanny pack, filled with graffiti from our 6th grade graduation party and letters we wrote to ourselves to read once we graduated high school. I bet it’s still packed up at her parent’s house. I’ll have to find out. Postum!!! That's what it was. It didn't really taste like coffe, similar, and it looked just like it. I'm going to go get some tonight.

This one still makes me laugh! I hope my kids are as dumb as I was so they can have funny memories like this. One year for my birthday party in junior high, we had my yearly 10 girl crazy sleepover party. I made myself my own birthday cake shaped like a mitt and ball in honor of softball season, and we were all having fun, except maybe Laura and Julie who thought we were evil for taking a caffeine pill each so we could stay awake. Very dumb and immature, but if that’s as bad as it gets, I think kids are doing okay. So we went on a walk to the junior high track to walk around and play when the ice cream truck dude came along and started flirting with us. Gross, I know. Well, we flirted back hoping for free ice cream and

instead he told us to hop in and he’d give us a ride to the school. Have you ever seen a tiny ice cream truck with 10+ girls stuffed into it? I’m surprised it even drove! I looked outside at the tires and they were practically flat on the ground with the truck only able to go about 5 mph. There were girls suffed onto the ice cream cooler in the isle and out every window. I’m afraid the truck would have been fatally wounded if it had been more than two blocks he had to drive us.
And there you go! Everyone else who reads this needs to do this, it's funny.

Hahahaha...When I started reading your memories that party popped into my head so I was glad when it was #5. That was a lot of fun...even though I though all of my friends were going to hell in a handbag because they were popping caffeine pills...haha(i don't really remember that) What I do remember is playing the pass out game and fainting for a second after holding my breathe a being pushed and choked...wow what a fun game! geeze...but didn't you faint for a long time...I remember I started to freak out and I thought you were dead!
I do remember the ice cream truck...I can't believe we didn't come out of that with any free ice cream!
Did we go skating or to the movies or something?
I also liked hearing you took trips! I always wanted to do a road trip but none of my besties ever would go for it! I totally was going to drive to New York after graduation but I couldn't get anyone to come with me(or to Vegas or to Mississippi or even to freaking Sun Valley or something...come on people!...now I know I should have asked you!(the furthest road trip we took was to SLC to see the Dixie Chicks...and even then Ryan Buttars drove us)
Traci's boyfriend was my friend Ben. I met him at Ricks and he and a couple other friends (Jessica Bastow and one of Ben's roommates) came with me to Redfish that year. Thus began the Traci/Ben saga. He was alright! :)
well, he was nice enough, but he did two things in particular that mad me really mad, I would even say angry, that were completely inexcusable. But I don't want to mention particulars because he may or may not feel or have felt bad for doing them. Ben, that's right, you would think I could remember that name.
We did take a trip together. WE lived on a bus for a week together in 8th grade, went to Disneyland, Sea World, Universal Studios, he Hard Rock Cafe(where we convinced Jonathan whats his name that he was drunk because they served him a "drink") and we went out on the ocean for that bottom scrapping thingy(thus a science trip, ahem),we went to Wild Bill's Wild West Extravaganza where a pretend bar room hussy threw her garter at Mr. science teacher, what was him name?, We got to ride the worlds most awesome roller coster,I got an album full of really fun trip pictures, we snuck into the boys room for like five minutes(what rebels) and it was seriously a dang cool trip. I hope my kids can do it sometime. I had to work my butt of to earn the money to go, too. And I had to get all A's. still it was so worth it.
oh yeah...of course that trip! I was thinking more along the lines of No Adults Present kind of trip(after I had my license) But that was a really fun trip! You can remember a lot of things but you can't remember Mr. Ridgeway's name! I really liked him as a teacher.
I also remember on that trip having to split off from you guys because you all gave me a hard time for wanting to ride "It's a Small World After All"..I remember Amber being particularly mean..haha! But we were at Disneyland and I was bound and determine to see all the rides and not just the "cool" ones!
You stayed in a room with me and Yvette and Katie right...oh and that Callie girl. I remember you wanted everyone to start tickling arms as we were trying to go to sleep(that is the first time I did that ever! but ot my understanding it was happening at many sleep overs across America;)
I remember making fun of the bus driver.
And Yvette and Jonathan totally hooked up. Wait...Zach Gregerson was on that trip too...didn't he hook up with someone? And I exhange my modest clothing for Yvette's really short shorts...much to dismay of the authority figure upon arriving home and mine as well once I started flipping through pictures! My hair in 8th grade was hidiodorous!
Oh fun times. I need to write a post about this trip because that was great.
My little bro Jake gets to take the school trip this year...different from ours though because they are going to Germany! Only like 6 kids are going and I think like 11 adults. I hope he has the time of his life!
sorry...one more question...are you saying Marsha dyed your hair black on purpose...or was the wrong color in the box? Just a little confused.
Speaking of Marsha...she played on my baseball team for like 2 days and I think I took her to church with me once...(unless I am just totally making that up...i could be as my memories have kind of meshed together and I am trying to sort them out.)
Oh, Marsha totally knew what she was doing. she thought it was funny.
As for It's a Small World After All, sorry we gave you a hard time, but I think I'll have to suffer through it again in two months, Brett insists on taking the kids through. I guess I'll do anything for my kids, but this is pushing it.
This is Kristin (allen) I am so glad you found my blog! No need to feel wierd...I remember you coming over and the last time you were with your husband and I think you had one of your little girls...who was extremely cute!! anyway your kids are such cutties!! I hope you don't mind if I add you to my list! Funny I was friends with Misty, Marsha's sister. Who I ran into a couple of months ago...and misty was a hippie with dreads and all! marsha was with her and had a baby. anyway random.
Crazy memories for one crazy girl.. I loved reading them.. Well we actually saved quite a few boy items (just incase) Jackson was so spoiled I only saved the favorites. Plenty for the next child. Although when you have a new baby its to hard to resist getting them somthing. Two boys would be fun but I would love a girl too. I guess its not really a huge deal what we have.. But I can't help but want a girl since I know how it is with a boy... I would like to experience the whole pretty princess thing.. You never know. Infact I don't know if we are going to find out again.. The surprise part was sooo fun.
