Trade offs

As a stay at home, I typically wake up at around 8:30 to 9 every day. Brett wakes up at about 6 am every day and works until 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. He doesn't mind, but still.

On the other hand, here's how things went today. When I finally got to hear from Brett while he's on his business trip(aka, work paid fun time where he gets to stay in nice hotels and get nice meals and treats all day) to Portland, Or, I happened to be at the laundromat scrubbing out the poop Lily smeared all over my huge comforter that won't fit in my washer. Oh, and I was also watching my feather mattress swirl around another machine because, for the first time in 9 months, Lauren decided to have an accident the ONE STINKING NIGHT I let her sleep in my bed. Of course.
So I was on the phone with Brett and he was at some posh country club enjoying his leisurely lunch and telling me about the place he ate at last night for dinner. Oh, and he just called me again, he's eating dinner with his group and says the place is awesome. Sweet. I just got called in to wipe Lauren's bum; and if I get around to eating dinner myself, it's probably going to be mac and cheese.

I like my mornings, but I still get pretty jealous of Brett's getaways sometimes, too. I think it's about time for me and the kids to head to Applebees and treat ourselves to desert. I'm feeling pouty.

Definitely treat yourself!!! Leave the kids at home...haha!
I applaud you for scrubbing the poop out...I would have had 2 options

1. Make Josh do it
2. If he refused throw it away and buy a new one.

So I am a little bit ridiculous...but hey.

And I think it is waaay easier to go to work all day then stay home with kids all day...both Josh and I are in agreement with that...we have both done both.

I have those moments when I think, WHAT, do I ever get a break. Like this weekend, all three of us had the flu and so my husband stayed home from work. AND although we were all trying to take it easy...the dishes piled, the cracker crumbs were everywhere, the floor was disgusting, and who made food, did laundry. Yes, these are daily things all at home moms do, but what men don't realize is that if we stop doing them and take a nice little break, it only gets worse and we have to clean it all later. We get NO fun get away, without things getting messy while we are gone. The work is never done at five...NEVER. So as I vent my frusterations on you, lets just say, I think all women should go on vacation together and leave the work at home with the men once in a while.

Kinda feel that way too. Brad is going hunting this weekend. He leaves tomorrow.... and it's my birthday on friday. I know i know. I was ok with it at 1st but now I am sad. He did make it up to me. I got some super cool stuff for an early b-day present. But I also took the next couple of days of work. Convienent. I am going to my mom's.... home cooked meals, another set of hands to help with Morg and...... she is going to shave Lucy... an awesome bargain! Have fun!!! Hang in there!

what a punk, he should be telling you how miserable he is, just to make you feel better, no? Always the most disgusting things happens when our husbands are gone. That stinks to drag 3 kids to the laundry mat, but hopefully the dessert made up for it!
